Long ago, men went to sea and women waited for them, standing on the edge of the water, scanning the horizon for the tiny ship. Now I wait for Henry. He vanishes unwillingly, without warning. I wait for him. Each moment that I wait feels like a year, an eternity. Each moment is as slow and transparent as glass. Through each moment I can see infinite moments lined up, waiting. Why has he gone where I cannot follow?

-The Time Traveler's Wife

Simply beautiful.

Bottled Up Inside
|2:25 AM

Bottled up inside
Are the words I never said
The feelings that I hide
The lines you never read

You can see it in my eyes
Read in on my face
Trapped inside are lies
Of past I can't replace

With memories that linger
Won't seem to go away
Why can't I be happier?
Today's a brand new day

Yesterdays are over
Even though the hurtings not
Nothing lasts forever
I must cherish what I've got

No more wishing for the past
It wasn't meant to be
It didn't seem to last
So I had to set him free

I did not write this. I just know it by heart because I loved it back when I was still in high school. Wala lang, I just wanted to write something in this blog of mine.

Colors of the Rainbow
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 |12:17 AM

I attended the graduation of my siblings earlier. Going back to my old school did wonders for me. It was a really, really good decision. I got to spend time with my beloved (and very missed) Ariane, Gianne and Michi. I also got to see Jericho, Michael, Chrissy and Renzy. More than that, the stroll down memory lane reminded me of things I needed to remember.

On a completely different note, I am nearing the end of the Time Traveler's Wife. I need to see what really happened but I don't want it to end. Another one of those dilemmas. Howell, finishing it will mean the start of a new journey, say A Hundred Years of Solitude or The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. Now, that deal is sweet enough for me. So, get those tissues ready, Kim. You know you're gonna cry.

Two Down

I have finished reading Hope for the Flowers and Holes. Both are children's books and it has nourished my inner child. Thanks Jan, my love.

Yet somehow, waiting and not being sure is better that action she couldn't believe in.

She felt like doing something, anything, rather than this uncertain waiting. "What in the world do I really want? It seems so different every few minutes. But I know there must be more." Finally, she became numb and wndered away from everything familiar.

He especially avoided meeting the eyes of other crawlers. He knew how fatal such contact could be.

Was it courage to wait?

As I was reading, I realized something. As I turn the pages of the book, I always keep an eye out for quotable quotes. Somehow, it lessens the fun of reading because I'm expecting something and as we all know, expectations break your heart. I should not be so conscious of the lines becuase when the quotable quotes come, I know I will recognize them since it will hit me with a bang and that will make it quotable.

SummerTime
|11:04 AM

Summertime, summertime
brought me back to thinking you were mine
all those times.
We laid it down and left it all behind
we were blind.

Oh, the summertime.
We could ride, we could ride.
Take my hand and watch the world go by.
Laugh or cry, well we need to try, get off the line, time to fly.
Oh, the summertime.

Go on ahead and let it fade away.
No looking back you know the past will stay.
Its you and me, we could get out of here.
Jump in and go and we could drive for years.
We could feel alive...

Here we are, here we are,
Windows down we see a shooting star.
Stop the car.
Waiting for nothing but our beating hearts, going far.

Oh, the summertime.
So feel the air, feel the air,
Take the map and point to anywhere.
I dont care. fingers through your hair,
The sky Ive seen is blue and green.
Oh, the summertime.

Driving away, leaving it all behind.
Driving away, just driving away.

Final Four

He opened his eyes. He exhaled. "You know what the Buddhists say? Don't cling to things because everything is impermanent."
But wait, I said. Aren't you always talking about experiencing life? All the good emotions, all the bad ones?
"Yes."
Well, how can you do that if you're detached?
"Ah. You're thinking, Mitch. But detachment doesn't mean you don't let the experiences penetrate you. On the contrary, you let it penetrate you fully. That's how you are able to leave it."

- Tuesdays with Morrie

This is something I have learn. Badly.

Apple and Chips

Studying 12 thesis statements for a 10-minute oral exam is just too much. I wanted the B+ badly but from the looks of it, I don't think I'll get it. I think I am getting much too accustomed to not getting what I want. This is not good. Maybe I should start from the little things and make my way from there. Okay then, I want a cheeseburger meal. Pag ito hindi ko pa nakuha, naku, ewan ko nalang.

Underneath the Pale Moonlight
Sunday, March 9, 2008 |11:05 PM

Sleeping is the most fun a girl can have during hell weeks.
The last two weeks of the semester is going to be one hell of a ride:

Final Opman Paper
Philo Final Orals
Com13 Final Exam
Opman Panel Defense
Com14 Final Presentation
Finance LT#3 (impending DOOM)
Opman LT#3
CS Interactive Story Board

I wanted to watch Incubus but then again, you can't always have what you want.
You're the dream that hasn't ended and I'm still anxious for rest.
